How to set it up in 3 steps

1

Click "Add to Chrome" in the Web Store

On your child's browser, click the button above to go to the Chrome Web Store listing. Click "Add to Chrome", then confirm the permissions when prompted. ScreenBudget only needs access to track time on sites — nothing else.

🧩 Chrome will add the extension automatically — no files to download or unzip
2

Pin the ⏱ icon to the toolbar

After installing, click the puzzle-piece icon (🧩) in Chrome's toolbar. Find ScreenBudget in the list and click the pin icon. The ⏱ timer icon will now appear in the toolbar permanently.

📌 Pinning makes it easy to check budgets at a glance — and shows it's active
3

Sign in and pick the child's profile

Click the ⏱ icon in the toolbar. Sign in with your parent account (the same email you use at the dashboard). Then select which child's budgets to enforce on this browser.

That's it. ScreenBudget will start tracking and enforcing immediately. Budgets reset at midnight each day.

💡

Install on your kid's browser, not yours. This extension goes on the Chrome profile your child uses. You manage all the budgets from the parent dashboard — the extension just enforces them automatically. Your child cannot change their own budgets.
